To strengthen our PV Early Solution - External Innovation group, based in our Bedford, MA offices, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Research Associate I.

The Downstream Process Development team is seeking a Research Associate to join a group focused on AAV Vector Downstream Process Development. He or She will collaborate with global project teams to support UCB Gene Therapy projects.

You like to work in an environment where you can:
* Conduct experiments to support downstream process development for AAV purification.
* Be responsible for filtration unit operations.
* Responsible for viral vector purification using ultracentrifugation and chromatography.
* Good practice of data record keeping.

You will contribute by:
* Assist in lab logistics, keeping track of supplies and restocking.
* Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
* Collaborate with the upstream, analytics, vector biology, and other teams.
* Assist vector production to generate research grade material as needed.

Interested? For this position, you'll need the following education, experience and skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
* BSc/MSc in chemical engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering.
* 1+ years of downstream process development experience in an academic lab or industry.
* Demonstrated experience as a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Well-versed in detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
* MSc degree with direct AAV purification experience.
* 2+ years of hands-on experience in downstream techniques, including but not limited to chromatography (Affinity, IEX, etc.) and filtration (depth filtration, UF/DF, tangential flow filtration, sterile filtration).
* Demonstrated experience with AKTA chromatography systems and UNICORN software.
* Expertise with liquid handling system such as Tecan.
