The Night Shift Clinical Nurse Mentor demonstrates and mentors nurses to practice according to evidence based standards set forth by national standards and professional organizations. This role links nurses who practice at night with the activities and outcomes generated by hospital and shared governance committees/task forces. Enhances retention by supporting NGRN with skills, confidence, and critical thinking necessary to navigate through the hospital setting and interact successfully with multidisciplinary team/colleagues.
The overall vision for the Night Shift --NGRN coach role is for nurses who are new to practice and work nights to experience professional advancement in their knowledge, skills, confidence and engagement and to be directly linked to the various initiatives and committee outcomes within the medical center. Nurses will have an onsite resource available for support, mentorship, professional advisement; including novices and preceptors.
