Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning duties. Candidate must always provide quality customer service to the client. Candidate must have knowledge of, or willingness to learn, proper cleaning techniques. Specific tasks are not guaranteed; therefore, candidate must be flexible in performing assigned duties.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Empty, clean all waste receptacles and remove wastepaper and rubbish from the premises to designated areas, damp wipe receptacles as necessary.

Cleans and disinfects all restrooms including floors, fixtures, partitions, and mirrors.

Refills restroom supplies as needed (Toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap)

Vacuum all rugs and carpeted areas in offices, lobbies, and corridors.

Hand dust and wipe clean all office furniture, files, fixtures, paneling, windowsills and all other horizontal surfaces as needed

Damp wipe and polish all glass surfaces

Remove all finger marks and smudges from vertical surfaces, to include doors, door frames, around light switches, private entrance glass and partitions.

Wash, clean and disinfect all kitchenettes and coffee stations.

Sweep, with broom, all private stairways, and vacuum if carpeted.

Damp mop or machine clean any spillage in office and common areas as required.

Dust all picture frames, charts, graphs and similar wall hangings.

Damp dust all ceiling air conditioning diffusers, wall grilles, register and other ventilating louvers.

Dust the exterior surfaces of lighting fixtures, including glass and plastic enclosures.

Keep janitorial storage rooms and slop sink rooms in a clean, neat and orderly condition.

Stock and organize janitorial products as needed.

Wipe clean and polish all metal hardware fixtures and other bright work.

Clean all entrance door glass inside and outside.

Sweep or dust mop floors as needed.

Sweep or damp mop entry ways

Follow all safety and personnel rules and regulations.

Reports any problems or maintenance issues to Facility manager in a timely fashion

Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or client.

You are expected to complete your assigned duties within the scheduled hours assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with simple variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to safely operate a variety of cleaning equipment from small floor scrubbing machines to large automatic floor machines. Ability to acquire and maintain a knowledge of surface materials and their proper maintenance. Ability to acquire and maintain technical knowledge for the safe use and storage of chemicals. Ability to communicate with people and to interact in a friendly, polite manner. Ability to conduct minor maintenance as assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
