The Leominster Adult Outpatient Center provides strength-based individual and group therapy to adults, and couples age 18 and over. We offer integrated, whole person care with primary care, and behavioral health. The Leominster Counseling Center also offers specialized substance use disorder treatment. Our office based opioid treatment offers buprenorphine and vivitrol treatment and we have a Second Offender Alcohol Education program.

Functioning under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the intern will provide individual and group therapy, complete strength-based comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, and work with clients on discharge planning. They also work in our Open Access Program for 4 hours per week, where they see walk-in clients who come for regular therapy or urgent care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct clinical treatment to adults, children, and adolescents as represented in the caseload through:diagnostic evaluations and screenings, crisis/emergency assessment and intervention, treatment planning and assessment, individual, group, couple, and family therapy.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary diagnostic treatment and planning conferences as needed Consults with area schools, doctors, individuals, and other social service agencies, insurance providers and hospital networks regarding clients, client services and case management as needed Flexible Schedule options.

  • Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrate Standards of Respect, and contribute to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Master's degree program in a clinical course of study in behavioral health (social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling or related field) that meet the academic requirements for independent licensure in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
