Job Description

Keros Therapeutics is a public, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel treatments for patients suffering from hematological and musculoskeletal disorders with high unmet medical need. We are a leader in understanding the role of the transforming growth factor-beta, or TGF-, family of proteins, which are master regulators of red blood cell and platelet production as well as of the growth, repair and maintenance of muscle and bone. We have leveraged this understanding and developed a discovery approach to generate large and small molecules to address diseases of these tissues. Targeting TGF- signaling pathways has been clinically proven to elicit robust changes in blood cells, muscle, and bone, which we believe provides a precedent and strong rationale for our strategy.

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to join our dynamic, fast-paced preclinical research group. The successful candidate will be an integral team member helping develop novel therapeutics that treat rare disorders. This position will primarily involve research that focuses on the utilization of our platform to expand into new disease areas including pulmonary, cardiac, and vascular pathology. The successful candidate must be scientifically motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic and cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Accepts designated, research-focused projects while proposing ideas and/or solutions to challenges.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments to support the evaluation of efficacy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, tolerability, and mechanism of action of drug candidates.
  • Analyze and present scientific data.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by study needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years' experience or Master's degree with 1-2 years' experience
  • Highly experienced in molecular biology techniques (cell culture, ELISA, qPCR, Western blot, etc.).
  • Proficient in rodent handling, experimentation, dosing (IV, IP, PO), blood collection, tissue harvesting, and ex vivo analysis.
  • Rodent surgical skills such as transaortic constriction (TAC), pulmonary artery banding (PAB) and hemodynamic measurements is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with image processing software and an interest in cardiopulmonary biology is a benefit.

We continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees. As such, Keros takes a holistic approach in mentoring, coaching, and developing all of our Keros team members.
