Job Description

We are searching for Project Controls Specialist (Scheduling Role) for a 1 yr. contract assignment. Could be fully remote position. The person will be responsible for the scheduling of several plant projects. The person will be primarily focused on large strategic projects within some of the client's renewables; wind, solar, battery as well as some of the projects within their current plans. The project could be anything from a gas plant, coal plant or hydro plant and others.

Will perform primary project controls assignments to support Project Managers. Accountable for generating reports, assisting with control activities, responding to data requests and developing/maintaining/supporting project schedules and/or detailed cost tracking.

Location: CO or MN or Remote.

Duties or Responsibilities:

  • Will be attending meetings with contractors or project managers, anybody within the project team.
  • Depending on projects, resource may be meeting with the environmental department or permitting to gather information on what is needed in a schedule. to be successful and stay on track as they are responsible for continuously updating the schedule, releasing it, in addition to preparing reports that pertain to the schedule health and making sure that is communicated.
  • There is a wide variety of daily activities depending on what's going on from a project perspective, i.e., development, construction, etc.
  • Little to no travel; travel would be local and would be reimbursed via expense.
  • The internal project team that this resource would be part of is 5-10 people.
  • Coordinates with Project Managers to obtain weekly and monthly cost and schedule updates. Assist the Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasting and review of expenditures.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:

  • 10-15 years of prior scheduling experience, preferably in renewables, however, has had success with schedulers in the oil and gas industry/other utility businesses
  • P6 experience is required as it is the main tool for scheduling.
  • Must have knowledge Microsoft project for importing data.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.
  • Construction background preferred.
  • Forward thinking and problem solving are required for this role in addition to strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, SAP Work and Asset Management required depending on additional job details. Familiarity with data analytics reporting tools preferred.
