This Sleep Center Staff Nurse will be responsible for:
  • Triaging sleep study requests, allocating resources and plan of care for successful, safe study
  • Clinical assessment, safety huddles, and decision making of patients admitted into the sleep lab for study
  • Collaboration and provision of care strategies for sleep technologists
  • Patient and family education regarding disease management
  • Responding to clinic messages, patient clinic needs and medication renewals
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and modifying plans of care in collaboration with APN and MD providers
  • Providing ongoing care coordination between clinic visits by communicating with families, healthcare team members and other agencies involved.
  • Opportunity to contribute to research and evidence based practice development.
  • Working 32 hours per week: one 8 hour day/evening shift and two 12 hour overnight shifts, including every third weekend

To qualify, you must have:

  • BSN degree.
  • 2 years of Pediatric RN experience
  • Inpatient setting experience and Neuroscience or Pulmonary experience preferred.
  • Ability to set priorities when organizing care for patients with varying acuity.
  • Strong telephone interview skills.
  • Collaborative teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of pediatrics and family centered care.
  • Ability to function autonomously using the nursing process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
