Summary of Role

The Associate Director of Demand Planning for Pharmaceutical and Clinical Planning is responsible for ensuring the efficient coordination of demand forecasts, and collaboration with various stakeholders including commercial, quality assurance, internal manufacturing, and clinical teams to drive Organizational alignment. This position supports a pivotal role within the SIOP process by way of refining demand forecasts and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing operational costs. You will act as a key member in the Planning team to drive alignment of the demand plan with our Raw Material Supply, Production Plan, and Inventory strategies.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Lead and oversee the SIOP process as it pertains to ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, production plans, and inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain SIOP strategies to optimize inventory, minimize stockouts, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Refine and enhance demand forecasting models using statistical methods, market insights, and historical data analysis.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to gather market intelligence, understand demand drivers, and incorporate sales forecasts into the planning process.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze demand patterns, adjusting forecasts as needed to accommodate changes based on alignment with Commercial team.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for cross-functional communication related to demand planning initiatives and strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address demand-related issues, such as supply shortages, quality concerns, or regulatory requirements.
  • Implement inventory optimization techniques, such as safety stock analysis, lead time reduction, and demand variability management.
  • Leverage data analytics/KPIs and technology tools to streamline planning processes, enhance forecast accuracy, and improve decision-making capabilities.
  • Support the new product process within the Quality Management System (QMS) as required for Commercial readiness

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of demand forecasting methodologies, inventory management principles, and SIOP processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, IBP, ERP systems)
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex supply chain challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or clinical supply chain management is highly desirable.
  • Certifications such as APICS (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or IBF (Institute of Business Forecasting) are a plus.
