Overview

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for various aspects of our accounting departments including ensuring that vendors are paid timely and accurately, and that invoices are processed properly.

Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Clerks typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Employee reimbursements for payments in a timely manner.
  • Coding invoices and allocations.
  • 1099 preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with various teams (Asset management, Development, etc...).
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are consistent across the accounting department and that the policies are set for the achievement of the business's overall goals and objectives.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, preferably in Accounting or Finance (will consider an equivalent combination of education and work experience in lieu of degree).
  • 1-3 years' experience in Accounts Payable within the real estate industry a plus.
  • Experience with Nexus Payables and MRI a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with Excel and other MS applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the real estate and construction industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles is not required but a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Must be team oriented and a problem solver.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Providence, RI this ranges from $50,000.00-$58,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
