CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Aviation Construction Engineer to join our Infrastructure - Aviation/Planning & Program Team at our office in either Norwell, MA; Boston, MA; Hartford, CT; or Providence, RI.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA provides aviation master planning and a full complement of related services to give airport leaders a clear path forward as they plan for the future to meet a variety of stakeholder needs. We have the capability to provide airport planning, development and programming design, obstruction evaluation, and project cost estimating.

The Aviation Construction Engineer will assist higher level Inspectors and Construction Engineers in observing and documenting the construction of airports, highways and streets, sewer and water systems, dams, bridges, buildings and building systems (HVACR, electrical, plumbing, security, and communication systems), and other structures and facilities.

More specifically, the professional in this role will Observe and monitor construction for conformance with contract documents and shop drawings/material submittals, record field observations and determine acceptability of construction work performed, as well as monitor contractor's quality control and verify construction conforms to the contractor's quality control plan. Additionally, the Aviation Construction Engineer makes field measurements, computations and records of acceptable work. The individual in this role calculates the quantity of acceptable completed work for payment and prepares reports outlining the work performed and the quantity of completed and accepted work under the supervision of experienced Inspectors or Construction Engineers.

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required
  • No experience required; however, 1 year of construction or construction observation experience preferred
  • Airport/Airfield construction experience preferred
  • Able to comprehend construction plans and specifications
  • Willingness to learn and follow Company standards, learn construction techniques, and assist mid to senior level team members with complex projects
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn the construction industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Civil 3D experience a plus
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Extensive travel may be required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Ability to pass TSA background check
SALARY RANGE:

$60,000 - $78,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
