We are searching for an Interpreter - Sign Language to provide coverage on-site/on-call for Interpreter Services as requested. Provide accurate consecutive and/or simultaneous verbal interpretation and/or translations of written material. Develop a rhythm of interpretation to enhance the flow of communication between parties. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of encounters.

  • Hours: Per Diem
  • Shift: Day shift with evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA
  • Travel: May require driving on average 3 or more times per week

    Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in a related field is required.
  • Training in medical terminology preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills appropriate for handling sensitive patient and/or employee issues.
  • Fluency in three (3) languages required, including English and two (2) assigned languages
  • One (1) year related experience required.
