About the Role:

The Artzi Lab is seeking an analytic, creative, laboratory-based immunologist with a background in molecular biology to assist with developing novel immune therapeutics. An ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of immunological disease models and an understanding of how drugs affect different tissues and the immune system on a molecular level. You will play a critical role in developing and sharing findings with a multidisciplinary team. You will collaborate with other scientists in pre-clinical research and development, and create engineered human and murine immune cells, and cell-based assays.

To be successful in this role, you will balance functioning autonomously and collaborating with team members to undertake scientific challenges. Ideal applicants are innovative, driven, team players.

Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Immunologist Responsibilities:

* Liaising and collaborating with external entities as experts in immunology.

* Attending and participating in project team meetings, and coaching research associates.

* Collaborating with team members to design experiments, and playing a creative role in problem-solving.

* Evaluating promising immunotherapy strategies by planning, creating, and validating cell-based and in vivo assays.

* Planning and implementing in vitro studies using primary immune cells to identify T cell responses.

* Developing and implementing in vivo/ex vivo drug delivery and functional studies.

* Ensuring adequate laboratory purchasing and inventory maintenance.

* Creating laboratory reports and maintaining records.

* Participate in lab organization and responsible for accurate record keeping

* Maintaining knowledge of the latest developments in the immunology field.

Qualifications

Immunologist Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in Immunology, Systems Immunology, or related field.

* A strong background in immunological, biochemical, and molecular techniques.

* 3+ years of research experience in immunology.

* General knowledge of immune related disease models.

* Proficiency with the culture of primary cells, in vitro assays, flow cytometry and analysis, and in vivo immunological models.

* Knowledge of computational/modeling systems (MHC/TCR predictors, RNA-seq data analysis, ect.)

* Structural chemistry experience (XRC/CryoEM) and knowledge of the relation of drug structure to functional in vivo mechanisms is a plus.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

* A proven scientific record of scientific accomplishment as demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals.

* Excellent analytical skills.

* Execution-focused, team-oriented, and highly motivated.
