GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Slaugenhaupt and Morini Laboratory at the Center for Genomic Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), is currently seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join our team. Our primary focus is on identifying innovative therapeutic approaches for Familial Dysautonomia (FD), a rare neurodegenerative disease.
We are looking for a results-driven, team-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve conducting bench experiments, and therefore, you must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills. A background or interest in neuroscience, drug development, and/or human genetics is essential. This position requires working with mouse model of FD. The research will primarily involve running efficacy trials in mice, complemented by molecular biology assays.
Furthermore, effective communication skills are crucial for this role. You should be able to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with project teams, colleagues, and management to identify and achieve research objectives. Interpersonal skills will play a key role achieving success in our research endeavors.

Bachelor's degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
New graduates with some lab experience (via course work, internships, etc.) or those without any prior research experience will be considered for the Research Technician I position outlined above.
Those with a minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience will be considered for a Research Technician II position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (if applicable):
A Research Technician II may serve as a team leader to lab assistants and Research Technician I's.
